The Phillips Family | Lifestyle Portraits Kannapolis, NC

One of my most favorite and loyal clients ever!! These are the sweetest two boys and purdy too!! I am SO glad we switched up our location and went looking for a different field. We hit the portrait jackpot with this field of indigo colored wildflowers. These images truly make me smile……and it isn’t because I’m thinking of the yummy bread they shared with me after the session either!!Although, that didn’t hurt a girl like me who LOVES FOOD!!

For you, Erica. I know you are proud of these little men. You are a precious family and I love you guys and am thankful that you trust me with capturing your family memories. THANK YOU!

I don’t know if I’ve ever blogged (or shot!!) that many images from a family session but I couldn’t stop. Perfect clothes. Perfect weather. Perfect family. Couldn’t ask for more. I absolutely loved them all and I hope you all do too!!Amanda Eller Photography | Salisbury NC Photographer

Project Food: April Challenge

I had to seriously rush to get this project done. I missed last months project (Splash!! ….so bummed about that…but WILL find time to catch up on that one!) and I didn’t want to miss out on another month just because life is CRAZY hectic right now!! So tonight, even though I had a late meeting, got home to fussy, wild kids…I had time to quickly boil a pot of pasta and smother it in pesto! After these shots I added some fresh lemon juice and chopped tomatoes. Who would have thought my kids would go bananas over such a simple dish? I’ll definitely be adding this one to the menu again soon with some grilled chicken and fresh corn on the cob. Yes please!

I couldn’t decide which image was my favorite. And there’s something to be said about not over-planning! Sometimes over-thinking things makes it more complicated, more stressful and just not fun. This was fun and delicious to boot! Score for easy-peasy pesto pasta!

Stacey S - They ALL look delicious Amanda! See some wine in the second one, lol Pasta has such universal appeal for both kids and adults – and you really came away with an awesome dish!

Tammy Bilodeau - Scrumptious! I love pesto, and those big rigatoni noodles look so yummy, I could devour a bowlful right now. I love the different colour palettes you have used, the red, blue and then white. Each image looks so different, just from a simple color change. Love it!

Tiffany | Develop - Great job, Amanda. I love when a last-minute dinner idea becomes a family favorite! I love the shot with the glass of wine. That makes me want to dig in for sure.

Jen - Amanda, I’d take a bowl of that!! I love the lesson of not “over thinking” things…so true!! You are superwoman, I believe!!!!

Laurie - They ALL make me want to take a bite!! But.. I love the blues, greens and aqua color schemes.. so I choose the bottom one.

Girlfriend.. you are amazing and I totally appreciate your not over thinking this project. It does get stressful.. and you are proof.. that simple is sooo pleasurable!

Kat - My fave is #2 I love how the Red accents just bring the pasta to life. Great job. And even better that your kids loved it…and don’t talk about fresh corn on the cob. *drool*

Kim – Liv life - I love the simplicity!! And I love pesto. I could seriously eat it every day of the week and never tire of it, luckily the kids are of a similar mind and we have it often. I’m still seeking the perfect recipe to make myself, but have yet to find it.
As for the photos… I’m somewhat partial to the 2nd one, with the angle. I’m not good at taking photos like that and I always am drawn to those that have that eye. You do!

Carey - What a lesson in not overplanning!!! Not thinking ahead and getting these results? The beauty in the simplicity of this being about the food? You succeeded, lady! And double score that the kids enjoyed it too!!! wonderful pasta image, Amanda!!! So glad you squeezed it in for this month!!

Carey - and haaaa!!! about the pomegranate grape juice!!! that is stinking brilliant!!!
